Grouse can be found over much of the estate and although somewhat neglected in recent times spectacular bags have been taken in the past. Estate policy has been to try to improve the shooting. The daily average over the last three years is seven brace and the shooting average has been about five shots per bird killed.
An attractive sporting package is available for three weeks from 12th August consisting of two days grouse shooting for four guns; stalking to include two stags and salmon fishing for six rods. Accommodation is in The Lodge and includes a cook, assistant and housekeeper. Towels and sheet/duvets are provided.
Clay pigeon shooting can be arranged with the head stalker; cartridges and clays are chargeable as extra.
We would stongly recommend that shooters take out insurance. Members of either The Countryside Alliance or The B.A.S.C. automatically receive third party insurance.
Braeroy is a renowned deer forest. The present policy is to shoot a limited number of stags in late August and then to divide the ground into two beats in September. The estate employs two stalkers and throughout September and October both take out rifles daily. The sporting package for four weeks in September comprises eight stags and six rods with accommodation in The Lodge followed by two weeks in October with eight stags and one week with six stags and two days hind shooting. Hind stalking is available for four weeks in November.
Ponies are used to recover the stags.
Estate policy is that any refund on fees paid for stalking is strictly at the discretion of the head stalker.

The Roy is an excellent spate river which rises in Loch Roy close to the eastern march of the estate (Loch Roy is only a short distance from Loch Spey, which is just over the march). The fishing rights extend for roughly thirteen miles of rapid run to the junction with the River Spean. It is divided into three beats. Four rods are let on a weekly basis on the middle beat (which is confusingly known as the Top beat) from late July and a further two rods are available on the Forest beat.
Access to the Top beat is very good via the metalled access road. It is more difficult for the Forest beat which is served by an estate track.

The Roy is mainly a grilse river with a five year average of 35 fish. The heaviest fish caught in recent times was a 19 lb salmon. Fishing is by fly only on the whole river. The estate practices a catch and release policy. It is a strict condition of rental that full details of fish caught must be returned to the estate on the card provided at the end of the week.
